Your Role
As an Arborist / Climber, you’ll carry out a wide range of tree work, from precision pruning to complex dismantling, ensuring safety and quality at every stage. You’ll work as part of a skilled team on highways, public realm, and green spaces.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead or support arborist teams to deliver scheduled work programmes.
- Perform aerial tree work: climbing, aerial rescue, pruning, rigging, and chainsaw use from rope & harness or MEWP.
- Carry out ground operations: branch removal, crown reduction, and powered pole pruner use.
- Handle windblown trees and emergency dismantling safely.
- Operate machinery and equipment: manually fed wood-chippers and MEWP (IPAF 1b, 3a, 3b).
- Ensure compliance with industry legislation, safety guidelines, and client standards.
- Coach and mentor junior team members.
- Work autonomously while maintaining a professional, first-class service.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in arboriculture (domestic and commercial)
- Confident climber with strong pruning and dismantling skills
- NPTC/LANTRA certifications in:
- Chainsaw Maintenance & Cross-Cutting (CS30/31)
- Tree Climbing & Aerial Rescue (CS38)
- Chainsaw from Rope & Harness (CS39)
- IPAF MEWP certification (1b, 3a, 3b).
- Valid UK driving licence (B+E an advantage).
- Current DNO authorisation (preferred but not essential).
Desirable
- Additional NPTC units (Aerial Tree Pruning CS40, Aerial Tree Rigging CS41).
- Utility arboriculture experience (UA1, UA2.1, UA2.2, UA2.3 desirable).
- Experience working near power lines and highways.
- NRSWA Streetworks (Signing, Lighting & Guarding – Unit O1 / S1)
- First Aid at Work certification.

- 47.5 hours per week
