Innovations
Ferns Workmate System – Ferns TM use a State-of-the-art ERP system with live links to DVLA and Lantra to keep staff records live and up to date.
Sending live data to operatives on site and it updates the desktop app as they complete each step of the process. The Planning section shows a map of jobs so teams can easily be allocated to the closest jobs, the map can also create a visual overview of works completed in any set period.
Once works are complete the system lets us invoice with ease and has direct links available to sage and other platforms. The system saves hundreds of man hours in admin and planning as all aspect from quoting, operations and invoicing are in one place with easy to export reports at any time.
Smart Traffic Signals – Ferns TM have opted to use Nissan lightweight traffic signals.
Weighing just 133kg Each, TM operatives can carry up to four-way signals – the lights fold for transport and when on site they are the tallest portable light in the UK market. All lights have AMOS (Automatic Man on Site) which can alleviate the need for costly man on site operation – the maximum green time is adjustable up to 295 seconds.
In the event of breakdowns, the lights all feature an auto restart feature.
Ferns TM Have access to a variety of additional innovations on the market, in some instances these may be a requirement, or to improve standards and make cost savings.
Variable Message Signs (VMS) display information to the public in a text form, these can also be set to inform the public of current journey times and speed limits.
Incursion Warning Systems – There is choices available on the market to suit all needs, from smart camaras to cone lamps that trigger alerts to the workforce. This can also replace labour on road closures in some situations.
Intercom Systems – Available for use on road closures, they can be placed so residents in closures can directly contact the site foreman with the press of a button.
Smart Permit Boards – These can be supplied to give live data and locations; these are ideal if you are asked to provide proof that they have been displayed on site.
CCTV – A variety of CCTV and ANPR solutions are available, these can track litter being dropped or simply record or track vehicles entering sites, in some circumstances they may be required for the safety of the workforce.
Automated barriers – These can be linked via ANPR or used with an operator on site. They can also be link to traffic signals on site entrances.
