    Job Description:

    Ferns Group are a family run business with over 25 years’ experience as an established Utilities and Reinstatement company, specialising in Telecoms Civils, and tailored reinstatement services.

    We are looking for a Group HR Manager to provide strategic and hands-on HR leadership across the business. This is a broad generalist HR role with responsibility for people strategy, compliance, data protection, and day-to-day operations, as well as managing and developing a small HR team.

    About the Role

    • Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the company’s goals and values.
    • Lead recruitment, selection, and onboarding to attract and retain top talent.
    • Drive employee engagement, wellbeing, and retention initiatives.
    • Oversee training, learning, and development programmes to support career progression and
      compliance.
    • Manage employee relations, providing advice and guidance to managers on disciplinary, grievance,
      and performance issues.
    • Ensure compliance with employment law and company policies across the group.
    • Lead HR reporting and analysis (e.g., turnover, absenteeism, training compliance).
    • Lead mental health initiatives
    • Manage HR systems, records, and reporting to ensure accuracy and confidentiality.
    • Develop and maintain effective reward, recognition, and benefits structures.
    • Partner with senior management on workforce planning and organisational design.
      Data Protection Officer Duties:
    • Monitor and advise on compliance with data protection laws, UK GDPR, and company policies.
    • Develop and maintain data protection policies, procedures, and training.
    • Act as the primary point of contact with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
    • Raise awareness and deliver training to employees on data protection obligations.
    • Skills, Experience & Attributes
    • CIPD qualified (Level 5 minimum, Level 7 desirable).
    • Proven HR leadership experience ideally in a multi-site environment
    • Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
      Experience in employee relations, recruitment, learning & development, and organisational
      development.
    • UK Driving licence and the ability to travel to multiple sites as required
    • Demonstrable knowledge of TUPE regulations essential
    • Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Demonstrable knowledge of UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018.
