We are looking for a Group HR Manager to provide strategic and hands-on HR leadership across the business. This is a broad generalist HR role with responsibility for people strategy, compliance, data protection, and day-to-day operations, as well as managing and developing a small HR team.
About the Role
- Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the company’s goals and values.
- Lead recruitment, selection, and onboarding to attract and retain top talent.
- Drive employee engagement, wellbeing, and retention initiatives.
- Oversee training, learning, and development programmes to support career progression and
compliance. - Manage employee relations, providing advice and guidance to managers on disciplinary, grievance,
and performance issues. - Ensure compliance with employment law and company policies across the group.
- Lead HR reporting and analysis (e.g., turnover, absenteeism, training compliance).
- Lead mental health initiatives
- Manage HR systems, records, and reporting to ensure accuracy and confidentiality.
- Develop and maintain effective reward, recognition, and benefits structures.
- Partner with senior management on workforce planning and organisational design.
Data Protection Officer Duties: - Monitor and advise on compliance with data protection laws, UK GDPR, and company policies.
- Develop and maintain data protection policies, procedures, and training.
- Act as the primary point of contact with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
- Raise awareness and deliver training to employees on data protection obligations.
- Skills, Experience & Attributes
- CIPD qualified (Level 5 minimum, Level 7 desirable).
- Proven HR leadership experience ideally in a multi-site environment
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
Experience in employee relations, recruitment, learning & development, and organisational
development. - UK Driving licence and the ability to travel to multiple sites as required
- Demonstrable knowledge of TUPE regulations essential
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrable knowledge of UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018.
