    Job Description:

    Immediate start for up to three months

      To support the procurement team in sourcing and purchasing materials, equipment, and services required for civil engineering projects. The Buying Assistant will ensure timely delivery of goods at the best possible value, maintaining accuracy, compliance, and efficiency throughout the procurement process.
    Key tasks and Deliverables:
      Assist in the procurement of materials, plant, and subcontractor services for ongoing and upcoming projects. Raise purchase orders and maintain accurate records using SICON software. Liaise with suppliers to obtain quotations, lead times, and delivery updates. Monitor and follow up on outstanding orders to ensure timely delivery to sites. Support cost comparison exercises and supplier evaluations. Build and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers and internal site teams. Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier information. Assist with resolving invoice or delivery discrepancies. Provide administrative support to the buying team as required.  
    Requirements:
      Previous experience in a procurement or purchasing role, ideally within construction or civil engineering.Good understanding of construction materials and suppliers.Strong communication and negotiation skills.High attention to detail and organisational skills.Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel); experience with procurement/ERP systems is desirable.Team player with a proactive and flexible approach.
