Ferns Surfacing Ltd has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Planning Manager to join our friendly team, working on our Water contract, from our offices in Lea Bridge Road, London.
Summary of Role:
You will be responsible for overseeing and managing the planning and execution of high-volume reinstatement works across London seven days per week.
The Planning Manager will manage a small team of planners to ensure all reinstatement activities are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will monitor the works management system, prioritising requests and collate updates from the reinstatement teams, ensuring that all work is completed within our clients’ service level agreements (SLA). You will be required to create an effective planning strategy for works including, backfill, tarmac, white top reinstatement, and SLG.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Scheduling:
- Develop and implement comprehensive reinstatement plans and schedules.
- Effectively plan resources using relevant management systems whilst being able to react quickly and effectively to emergency works.
Stakeholder Coordination:
- Liaise with client, contractors, and internal teams to ensure seamless project execution.
- Facilitate regular meetings to discuss project progress, challenges, and solutions.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead and mentor a team of planners
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the team.
- Provide training and development opportunities to team members.
- Ensure that reinstatement teams have the relevant system information required to complete all activities.
Health, Safety and Compliance
- Promote a strong health and safety culture across all project activities.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, including NRSWA (New Roads and Street Works Act) and HSE standards.
Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience in planning reinstatement works, ideally within the water utilities or infrastructure sectors.
- Strong knowledge of reinstatement methods, materials, and industry standards.
- Familiarity with NRSWA, NJUG guidelines, and other relevant regulations.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Strong communication skills, with experience in managing a small team
- Competent using Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook etc)
- A second language i.e. Romanian would be an advantage but not essential
Qualifications:
- Ideally a NRSWA Supervisor Certification but not essential
Working hours:
45 hours per week, some weekend working by rota.
Pay range – £45,000 – £50,000
