Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Quality Assurance (QA) Manager to oversee and manage all aspects of quality assurance on construction projects delivered to our clients in the Gas Sector. The role involves ensuring compliance with all client specifications, industry regulations, and internal quality standards throughout the lifecycle of each project.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead QA Efforts: Develop, implement, and manage project-specific quality plans in accordance with client requirements and relevant legislation.
- Compliance Assurance: Ensure full compliance with Technical Standards, Construction (Design and Management) Regulations (CDM), ISO 9001, and other applicable regulations
- Inspection & Audits: Plan and conduct regular site inspections, internal audits, and third-party audits; ensure timely resolution of any non-conformances.
- Documentation: Maintain thorough and accurate quality records, including Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), Quality Checklists, and Final Handover Documentation Packs
- Stakeholder Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact for all quality matters with National Gas representatives, design teams, and subcontractors
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements, deliver training to site teams, and promote a culture of quality across the project workforce.
- Handover Readiness: Ensure all quality documentation is complete and aligned with Client expectations for final handover and asset acceptance
- Risk Management: Identify and assess quality-related risks; work collaboratively to implement preventive and corrective measures.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Ideally a degree or equivalent in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Similar experience in a similar role within the gas infrastructure or utility construction sector.
- Experience working to National Gas (or National Grid Gas) specifications and procedures an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and familiarity with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 systems.
- Auditor qualification (IRCA or similar) highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Competency with quality management software and Microsoft Office tools.
- CSCS card and relevant SHEA Gas or EUSR qualifications preferred.
