    Job Summary
    We are seeking an experienced Senior Street Works Coordinator to join our team at our office in Wrotham, Kent. You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of our new Water contract, including managing, coordinating and submitting street works permits and notices, ensuring full compliance with NRSWA and local authorities.

    This role will take ownership of planning, scheduling and programming of works, ensuring efficient delivery while minimising disruption to the public highway.

    You will be the key point of contact for permit applications, ensuring accurate and timely submissions, managing updates, and supporting operational teams with compliant work planning.

    Key Responsibilities

    Permit Management and Compliance

    • Prepare, submit and manage all permit applications through relevant systems
    • Ensure compliance with NRSWA, HAUC guidelines and local authority permit schemes.
    • Issue statutory notices within required timeframes, including start, stop and works updates.
    • Maintain accurate records or works status, variations, extensions, and closures.
    • Responsible for SNMS, portable signals, bus stop suspensions, Switch outs, assessment and booking of traffic management and TRO processes.
    • Jeopardy management of FPN and Section 74 charges.
    • Management of defect inspections and remedial progress.

    Programming and Scheduling Works

    • Develop and maintain work programmes in line with operational priorities and contract requirements
    • Coordinate planned works with internal delivery teams, subcontractors, and third parties
    • Identify and resolve clashes, conflicts, or restrictions within the public highway.
    • Ensure permits align with operational schedules, resource availability, and traffic management requirements

    Communication and Stakeholder Liaison

    • Act as the primary point of contact for local authorities regarding permits and compliance queries.
    • Liaise with internal site teams to ensure works are delivered in line with approved permits
    • Prior experience managing multidisciplinary teams on large-scale projects is preferred.

    Monitoring, Reporting and Continuous Improvements

    • Track and manage permit performance, including FPNs, rejections and challenges.
    • Provide regular updates and reports to management on programme status and compliance.
    • Work with delivery teams to improve permit accuracy and reduce avoidable rejections.
    • Support audits and quality checks on Streetworks documentation and processes.

    Qualifications

    Essential

    • Experience in a Streetworks or permit‑related role within utilities, highways, telecoms, or construction.
    • Strong working knowledge of NRSWA and the permit scheme process.
    • Proficient with Street works systems.
    • Experience of SNMS, bus stop suspensions and TRO processes.
    • Excellent planning, scheduling, and organisational skills.
    • Strong communication skills with confidence liaising with authorities and operational teams.
    • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
    • Competence using MS Excel, project planning tools, or scheduling systems.

    Desirable

    • NRSWA Supervisor or NRSWA Coordinator certification.
    • NHSS 12/D or M7 Traffic Management qualification.
    • Experience coordinating traffic management requirements.

    Monday – Friday, 8am to 5pm. Office Based
    Salary: £45,000 to £60,000 per annum
    28 days holiday inclusive of bank holidays

    Fixed-term; between 3-6 months.
