Overview
We are looking for a reliable, proactive, and hands‑on Driver & Vehicle Operations Assistant to join our team. This varied role is ideal for someone who enjoys being on the move, working with vehicles, and supporting a wide range of operational tasks across the business.
You will be responsible for transporting vehicles, preparing them for operational use or resale, carrying out basic checks and fit‑outs, and assisting wherever needed to keep the fleet and wider team running smoothly. This is a great opportunity for a motivated individual who likes a mix of driving, practical work, and general support duties in a fast‑paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Vehicle Movement & Driving
- Safely collect, deliver, and reposition company vehicles across various locations.
- Drive a range of vehicle types, ensuring they are handled responsibly and professionally.
- Assist with arranging vehicle transport and logistics when required.
Vehicle Preparation & Fit‑outs
- Carry out basic inspections for mechanical or cosmetic issues and report findings.
- Remove or install equipment such as trackers, cameras, and internal fittings.
- Support fit‑outs for vehicles going into service or being prepared for resale.
- Clean and present vehicles to a high standard.
General Operational Support
- Assist the fleet team with day‑to‑day tasks, stock checks, and record keeping.
- Help maintain accurate vehicle documentation, service history, and status updates.
- Work closely with the Transport team to ensure all vehicle data is up to date.
- Support ad‑hoc duties across the business — a true “can‑do” role where no two days are the same.
Skills & Requirements
- Confident and competent driver with a full UK driving licence (max 6 points).
- Practical, hands‑on approach with willingness to turn your hand to a variety of tasks.
- Basic understanding of vehicle mechanics is beneficial but not essential.
- Good communication skills and a professional manner.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable, organised, and able to prioritise work effectively.
