    We have an excellent opportunity for a Desk Based Surveyor to join our growing project, based in and around the Brighton area.

    As a Desk Based Surveyor , the primary objective of the role is to manage and support the field Surveyors and engineers in Fibre Delivery on Openreach works.

    Responsibilities of the role:

    • Complete management of Survey supervisors providing leadership and guidance.
    • Driving improvements into the quality of field surveyors through the management of the field supervisors and surveyors alike
    • Ensuring supervisors manage survey teams (surveyors & TRR crews) to work together as an efficient unit
    • Working closely with the Project Manager & Assistant Project Manager to improve, maintain and increase the quality of surveys in the field
    • Guarantee continued training / support to surveyors, TRR crews & trainees to generate a knowledgeable field team
    • Working pro-actively to identify and develop new ways of working to meet the customers’ & client’s requirements
    • Participate in client calls
    • Identifying any failings and putting processes / training in place to rectify any issues that may arise
    • Manage ECDs in accordance with CDPs through use of internal trackers
    • Performance manage surveyors and supervisors through weekly capture of performance data
    • Manage field to ensure customer & client targets are met
    • Ensuring all revenue generating activities are captured at survey stage to ensure maximum revenue is obtained during & following build, prior to invoicing.
    • Understanding the existing Openreach network to be able to offer the best and most cost-effective solution for any upgrade works on the existing network UG or OH.
    • To ensure all costs are captured at survey stage including Traffic Management by reviewing all TM requirements when applicable
    • Complete full validation of surveys
    • Ensure that the supervisors capture all DFEs and that they are applied to the estimate
    • To support the supervisors in their role thus ensuring surveyors are correctly managed
    • To develop processes to increase efficiencies within the field
    • Continuous health and safety checks
    • Work closely with Openreach FBC engineers
    • Performance manage supervisors & surveyors through weekly capture of performance data
    • Manage a program of works to ensure that customer targets are met
    • Management and training of the overall quality of the surveys
    • Confirm compliance with all company procedures
    • Any ad-hoc duties as requested by the line manager or senior management

    To be successful in this role you will:

    • Extensive knowledge of surveying requirements for a fibre build network, especially Openreach Network – must hold current S11 training accreditation – Ideally lead assessor status.
    • Good experience working with Platforms – Orion & Geo hub
    • Min 2 years’ experience working in a Fibre Build Project Management role on PON (FTTP), Spine & Poling works on Network Build Telecoms projects
    • Good knowledge of NRSWA (Ops & Supervisor)
    • Proficient knowledge of Fibre PON build specifications
    • Good understanding of Traffic Management guidelines for utility works in the Highway
    • Good presentation skills – you should be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office packages in particular Power Point & Excel
    • Based in the North West but prepared to Travel as and when required
    • Full UK drivers licence held for a minimum of 3 years.
    • Be prepared to undergo a DBS check (formally CRB) prior to commencing work with Ferns.
