As our Social Media Officer, you will manage all of Ferns Group social media channels, producing compelling content that highlights our people, projects, innovation and contributions to the communities we serve. You will edit on-site footage, create short-form videos, publish updates, and help bring the world of civils and infrastructure to life in our audiences.
You will work closely with teams across the business including, HR, Operations, and Commercial to gather stories, promote achievements, and ensure consistent, professional representation of our brand online.
Key Responsibilities
- Edit and upload video content from sites, events and project activities.
- Manage day-to-day posting across LinkedIn, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X (Twitter).
- Produce engaging written, visual and multimedia content aligned with brand guidelines.
- Plan and schedule content to support ongoing campaigns and business updates.
- Monitor engagement and analytics to evaluate performance.
- Attend sites ad internal events to capture stories, footage, and real-time updates.
- Produce and distribute the monthly staff newsletter.
- Write “Meet the Team” features and internal updates.
- Manage intranet content and ensure information is kept up to date.
- Assist with internal engagement campaigns (e.g., wellbeing, staff recognition).
- Work closely with HR, Operations and Commercial teams to gather content.
What we’re looking for:
- Proven experience managing professional social media accounts.
- Confident filming and editing video content for social media channels.
- Strong communication and visual storytelling skills.
- Good understanding of social media platforms, trends and scheduling tools.
- Creative flair with the ability to craft engaging stories that resonate with diverse audiences.
- Organised with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and visit sites when required.
- Ability to film and create content (Desirable)

£30,000 to £35,000 per annum
