We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Street Works Manager to join our busy, friendly team to support our clients within the Utilities Sectors.
The Street Works Manager will be responsible for managing the daily street works activities within the Street Works department and will report directly to the Senior Street Works Manager. You will provide support to both Street Works Co-ordinators and Administrators and escalate any matters to the Senior Street Works Manager where appropriate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the daily Street Works activities performed within the Street Works Team
- Manage the application of permits, with focus on remedial and interim-permanent reinstatement
- Report on and assist with complex traffic management permits completed by team members
- Liaise with Highway Authorities to ensure smooth running of permit applications
- Jeopardy management
- Reviewing and preventing of Street Works charges, including S74, FPNs and Defects with mitigation where possible
- Invoice reconciliation
- Liaising with Senior Management team on all contracts
- Liaising with traffic management suppliers
- Building and maintaining good working relationships with our clients across all sectors
- Production of KPI and performance reporting, with presentation internally and externally
- Undertake training and development of the Street Works Team
Requirements:
Essential:
- 5 years’ experience in a Street works or permit‑related role within utilities, highways, telecoms, or construction.
- 2 years’ experience of team leadership and performance improvement in a Street Works environment.
- Strong working knowledge of NRSWA and the permit scheme process.
- Proficient with Street Works systems, particularly Street Manager
- Excellent planning, scheduling, and organisational skills.
- Strong communication skills with confidence liaising with authorities and operational teams.
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Competence using Microsoft Office package.
- Experience coordinating traffic management requirements, including Traffic Orders, suspensions and complex permitting needs.
Desirable
- NRSWA Coordinator certification.
- Traffic Management qualification.
- Competence using planning or scheduling tools.
- Section 50 or Section 278 experience.

Pay: £40,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
