As an Apprentice Construction Plant Fitter, you will undergo comprehensive training to develop the skills and knowledge necessary for maintaining and repairing construction plant machinery and equipment. This apprenticeship offers a hands-on learning experience within the construction industry, focusing on mechanical systems, hydraulics, and electrical components. You will work alongside experienced professionals to gain practical insights and technical expertise, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of construction machinery.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Learn to inspect, diagnose, and repair a variety of small construction plant machinery, including, saws, core drills, trench rammers, pedestrian rollers and mini diggers.
2. Assist in performing routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, and lubrication to ensure equipment longevity and optimal performance.
3. Study schematics, manuals, and technical documentation to understand the mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems of construction machinery.
4. Develop proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment for maintenance and repair tasks.
5. ssist in troubleshooting aAnd resolving mechanical issues, including engine failures, hydraulic leaks, and electrical malfunctions.
6. Follow safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries while working on construction sites or in workshop environments.
7. Collaborate with senior fitters and supervisors to prioritise work orders, schedule repairs, and coordinate maintenance activities.
8. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment history, and parts inventory to support efficient workflow and documentation compliance.
9. Participate in training programs and educational courses to enhance technical skills and stay updated on industry advancements.

Skills and Qualifications:
1. GSCE Maths and English at least grade 4.
