Main purpose of the job:
We are currently seeking an experienced Senior QS/Cost Manager to join our team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and overseeing all company wide costs. This will include cost planning, budgeting, estimation, risk analysis, and cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
Key tasks and Deliverables:
- To control company wide costs; fuel materials, labour/wages, overheads, vehicles, reconciliation process.
- Developing and implementing cost control measures for projects.
- Preparing and presenting project budgets and cost plans.
- Ensuring that all project costs are properly recorded and reported.
- Conducting cost analysis and risk assessments to identify potential cost savings and efficiencies.
- Providing advice to project teams on cost and commercial matters.
- Producing monthly cost reports and forecasts for senior management.
- Evaluating contractor and supplier proposals for accuracy and compliance with contract requirements.
- Providing support to project teams in the preparation of payment applications.
- Monitoring and managing project cash flow.
- Participating in project meetings and liaising with stakeholders on cost-related matters.
Requirements:
● BSc / QS Degree (MRICS -Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors).
● Ideally a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
● Thorough understanding of cost management principles, practices, and techniques.
● Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
● Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
● Proficiency in Microsoft Office and cost estimating software.
● Knowledge of civil engineering contracts and regulations.
● Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
● Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
